Well done on having a go. I would replace the gaskets but unless specified by the factory workshop manual no need to renew nuts. From memory the torque on these is not high at all. Some bolts in critical components “stretch” slightly when fastened to torque spec. A good example is mounting assembly on front brakes of some cars to the front suspension struts. They are a one shot use.
Having done this job on my 1199 installing the full Ti system, get the factory torque specs for the nuts. If possible leave fairings off, short test ride and if all good on recheck then put the fairings back on. Akra normally supply some ceramic paste to apply to bolts so u can undo in future.
Koken Z series tools are great for these jobs as is ratcheting ring spanners. Good luck spannering
