I’m going to call the dealer tomorrow and see if I can get them to warranty it. They probably won’t but I think it’s worth the try. If not I’ll order the bearings

My bike is out of warranty so I’m going to replace the bearings I found them on 123 bearing along with a tube of grease came out to 188. I also ordered a puller from Amazon. This will be a handy tool for my toolbox as I have two other ducs my 1198 and 996

The plan is to heat the eccentric hub with a heat gun to expand the metal a bit and pull the bearing I found a video on YouTube of a guy that did it on his 1199. I don’t want to use a torch because it might heat the metal up to much and I don’t want to risk warping it. I’ll do a full write up on this thread of course

Got in the garage today and pulled the bearings, it was easy peasy. The axle I’m going to take to work and refinish it due to it looking rough

here is the axle after I cleaned it up a bit. I’m going to put it on a lathe at work and hit it with some 600grit sand paper also make sure it’s still true and no warps

here is the hub after I cleaned it up and bearing out. Using the pulled is really simple. Just pop the dust cap off stick the two hooks into the bearing, tighten the nut and it comes right out. This side didn’t need heating it came right out on this side

However on this side (wheel side) I heated the hub with a heat gun for a few minutes and repeated the process. It also came right out. After that I sprayed it all down with brake cleaner and a rag. I’m just waiting for the bearings in the mail

Success in putting the hub back together. It was pretty straight forward everything went in no problem. The mechanic shop at work had a press which came in handy.

All of the grease was dried out when I took the hub apart. Honestly it looked like they barely put any on at all. When I put it back together I made sure to not be shy with it lol.

I fit the hub back in ran the rear brake line I got from Brad and new caliper.

All this just in time for my dyno appointment tomorrow or in a few hours. Talk about down to the wire. I’m going the woolich route I want to see what I can get out of this puppy.
