Hello All,

I wanted to share my V4 experience with the people that are interested. I've owned 16 Kawasaki's and 1 Bmw this is my first Ducati. I detail cars and bikes so bare with me because I may do things a bit different than most. That being said lets start the show.

After getting the bike home its time to get it dialed in.

Hello HKMP7,
No pressure, just a friendly reminder :p
But, you got 15 more days to make your thread up to date with your latest/current configuration because your bike will be featured as BIKE OF THE MONTH (October) on our HOME page 😃
https://www.ducatimodified.com/home.html

note: sorry that I haven't make my own thread up to date... I am just so busy with work, however, there are so many new parts arrived this past few weeks, including a "secret" Brembo part :giggle:,
I promise to update this weekend, I can't let HKMP7 beat me all the time :geek:

Man, I’m afraid to wash my bike like that....
There is no harm washing it like that because most newer bikes use waterproof/sealed connectors. So as long as you don't submerge the bike in water you'll be fine. I do make sure not to get much water on the dash. I usually cover it with a microfiber towel.

a friend of mine, she insisted on washing my 1299 like that, I was against is. Next day it wouldn’t start and my dash was a Christmas tree...

After getting the bike washed decontaminated clayed and dried its time to inspect the paint
The paint was in horrible condition from being "wiped down" at the dealership and people sitting on the bike.

So I did a 2 step paint correction to fix the damage from the dealer.
Here are the those same panels afterwards.

Whenever I get a new bike I want try to get it protected first so I can ride it with no worries. So while I was getting the paint up to par this piece came in.
With the bottom of the gas tank being exposed that sticky Pirelli SC would destroy the paint. Now I don't have to worry

Ok back to the prep.
Got the bike disassembled ready for the coating stage

Good morning HKMP7,
Quick questions:
a. I notice you put a painters tape to prevent the ceramic coating, coat the black unpainted plastic surface, if somehow I accidentally coat the unpainted plastic surface, how can I remove them without making the surface looks different/stain?
b. Since I am not a pro, I don't have a special room like your dedicated to perform the coating (room which is relatively dust free), and sometimes there are speck of dust fall onto the surface. If a speck of dust fall to the surface while the coating was still wet, will it be permanently embedded when the coating is dry? is there a way to remove this speck of dust?
Thanks

Yeah the painters tape is to prevent the coating from getting on the black plastic mainly to prevent adding sheen to the matte parts. It wont hurt it at all just will change the look slightly. Dust wont affect the coating at all. The coating isn't wet like "paint" so there not a chance of the dust embedding itself in the coating. When you level the coating you are taking most of the excess off the surface.

Now that the fairings are fully cured I added PPF to the high impact areas.
I normally do the front nose fairing the headlights and the front fender.
This was a pre-cut kit from the tankslapper. I did xpel ultimate on the gloss parts and xpel stealth on the matte fender.

Mirror delete Signals
Got these to get rid of those factory mirrors and the bike looks a lot better IMO.

Replaced the bolts that came with the signals with a slighty longer Ti ones.

Im officially a Ducatisti
