Yes. Anything more than -1 tooth in the front seems to negatively effect the DQS. I chased that issue for awhile.
You can try setting the tire calibration to default then doing a fresh one, but you're going to have at best intermittent problems.

Eh. It's a gas tank on top of a 200+ HP 1103cc engine. Heat is always going to be a problem. I think a better design may be a larger radiator and oil cooler.

The throttle position sensor is at the throttle bodies, not at the throttle. If they're willing to try and it wouldn't cost you much or anything it's worth a try.
The one I used temporarily on my clutch slave when trying to diagnose something seemed to activate with the slightest pressure. The only thing I needed to do to get it to work was to cut the plug from the factory one and cut and splice it to the pressure banjo bolt.
