Hello all my name is Hunter, getting into track riding, and have bought my first panigale v2 Baylis after a few years of being on the fence. Have had a few other ducatis but Wow what a machine, so glad I did, wish I did it sooner. Following many others I will try and document a light weight / weight savings build to help others. I am an engineer and am wildly overboard with measuring differences, etc. this forum has been a blast to read the builds and has provided many MANY HOURS of entertainment. and guided many decisions. I would like to thank you all and hope I can give something back,

Since I got Valentina, (yes her name is Valentina, always named my ducatis) she has had some fun things tossed on her, photos and measurements to follow, PFA

Once we got her to 600 miles, i was able to toss on a full Akra I had sitting around from a old 1299, hardest thing was getting the wife’s approval to toss Valentina in the house, didn’t wanna make the long Trex Jo in the snow to the garage,

I don’t know why this me happy but you can see the “craftsmanship” the ducati workers have when adding Baylis decals, idk why but gives Valentina a real “hand made feel” haha even though this legit the cheapest scotch tape I think money can buy….

While I stripped everything off I weighted it all, the end goal for this winter project is to have full Akra, charcoal delete, and some other small bits and pieces done, hopefully totaling in the ballpark of 20+lbs of easy weight savings. first place I started was at the battery, as I’m sure all of you know the Baylis comes with a lithium ion battery from factory, I think a few others might come with the same one as well, battery weighted in at 799grams or 1.76lbs, I’m sure this can be lowered but for starting I will place my efforts elsewhere. BTW I’ll weigh everything in grams OR Kg then convert to LBS, I’m doing this so that I don’t unintentionally round up or down, and for my quick math it is easier to add up,

Stock muffler/ silencer with the servo motor weighted in at 10kg, connecting pipes at 1.543kg for rear, 1.930kg for front/side/ collector, and the stock heat shield at 1.168kg,
Old total = 14.641kg or 32.277lbs

Story time on the exhaust, I actually bought it before the bike, got it from a friend for the cheap, He had it on his 1299 that he crashed, pulled it off and cleaned it up. He was going to put it on his 959 but traded the 959 in for a new v4, so it was a good deal for everyone. He had cleaned it up very nice, the only downside was I had to do some very minor touch up work on the carbon fiber, order springs and hardware, and one of the silencers had the Akra logo polished out.

for me and for the price I don’t really care, it is nice to have but it was a great deal. I have a MASSIVE LASER ETCHER at work and WAS planning on zapping a super large Akra logo in the silencer and on the side pipe, but for the time being I ordered a heat resistant Akra sticker off of Etsy that’s yellow black and gold and tbh it goes so well with Valentina I haven’t wanted to fix it and might just get one for the other size and cover the laser etched logo.

what is everyone’s thoughts??? Hard to beat the super nice laser etched logo, but the sticker is basic, color scheme works, idk I’m torn tbh
