DUCATI Panigale V4 25° Anniversario 916 BUILD Thread

Elegant solution for the tail, bringing together quality components that look right as a unit. I like the clamp that keeps the coolant hoses in place but it really needs a grommet around the hoses as vibration will quickly mark and could ultimately wreck the braiding. Great innovation as...

Does a head lift stand still work with one of these?

Ouch! Was it 50 years ago my slightly older friend - I was still in school - shocked everybody by arriving at the church youth group on a spectacular new and very muscular-looking Z900. I previously had no interest in the bikes of those days. A long story but that bike indirectly resulted in me...

I'm not familiar with TWM but the screws on my fuel cap are an unusual shape and cannot be swapped with screws from any other supplier. If you want to order screws individually you really need to understand how they are measured and the easiest way to learn is to look at the Proti kits and see...

A year ago I ordered the left and right fairing screw sets direct from Proti Global (cheaper freight for me but Belissimoto might be better for you). If I was doing it again I'd order just the individual screws that I want to replace since I didn't use the whole set *. There are four in the nose...

    HKMP7's V4S Journal

Talking to a random rider on Sunday down from Queensland on his SS. He said he'd put an STM dry clutch on his V4R upon advice from Troy Bayliss. He had not been happy with longevity of the Ducati dry clutch - about 5000km - although I did mention that 3-5000km seems to be what everybody is...

Quite often it's the tiniest touches that have greatest impact. Gotta say my bike is always clean and ready to ride but I've seen operating theatres that look grubby next to yours HK. Do you use anything in particular to detail around engine nooks and crannies?

Aha, now I know it's a hole I can see it clearly in your original picture. 😊

I can't tell if it's possible but if you're going to epoxy a dowel onto the Spider housing it would be safer to drill a hole into the housing so the dowel is secure. You don't want to rely on a glued butt-join to cope with the stress of white knuckle fever.

Nice job. I think Motocorse might pinch the idea! 😊

Never realised thread locker could damage paint. I'm always careful with Loctite and grease just to minimise any clean-up but from now on I'll be extra careful. I like how you not only show us the end result but how you got there or why you chose a certain solution as well as misadventures...

    My little build

Re the Lightech rearsets are you using standard or race (reverse) shifting. I ask because someone reported their Lightech gear shift lever hits against the side-stand - has worn a groove - when he pushes down. I assume he's using race shifting and wondering if they are simply not suited to that...

    Riding Gear

Just finishing this glove mod...I had sliced the micro fibre lining along the very edge of the gauntlet leaving a 3" gash where the liner is just flapping around. I could leave it like that but it would quickly get tatty. I have a spray can of 3M Super 77 that I had used to glue a nylon liner...
