Its more the material the pistons are made of, Ti or stainless are much better than aluminum. Brembo includes silicone grease with the seals, just put a very small amount on pistons. I put ventilated Ti pistons in my gp4-ms calipers and do not run the dust seals.

I measured and have it somewhere, but off the top of my head it wasn't a big difference

Yeah, nothing to it other than using compressed air to get the old pistons out. Main advantage is it keeps the heat out of the caliper and fluid much better than the stock alum.

I went from a .95 to a .85 spring

The ET allows you to flip your eccentric for more ride height, you have to make other changes as well.
