Hi Andy, that is a very functional, practical and secure trailer. Was it made for bike transport? May I know the company who made it? Thanks

Gday Howard, I bought it off a bloke who used it to transport sheep & chickens to shows for competition. No idea who made it, there’s no branding I can find anywhere - but it’s 8 years old so I don’t think it’s had a very hard life based on its condition. :)

There are a few trailer makers here in Sydney that make custom trailers. Someone near my hose had one for sale recently for 19k AUD which appeared to be a bike trailer. There was a Fox racing emblem on the side
There will be people in the USA that do that.

@Andy7 you did a good job with that. Hole in the floor was a good idea.
Where is your track day ?

@PanigalePilot I've seen a few toy haulers that look nicer than my house 😂 All up I'm in it for $4k (about 2700 for you guys in the states) so far with nothing else to spend really, pretty happy with that considering the covid tax on most things the last few years.

Back at Eastern Creek again, will make the trek down to Phillip Island soon - that itch needs scratching before winter I think

Gents,
I have ended up going down the biggest rabbit hole (not sure if they have that saying in the states) anyway putting the electronic ignition in the Darmah, got that done but idle was off and checking the carbs turned into vapour blast and complete rebuild of carbs (lots of learning though). Carbs look like they came out of Dellorto factory 44 years ago. All new seals, filters, jets, needles, new chokes, new washers, throttle cables, choke cable, and anything not new is polished and cleaned like new. Complete fuel system resto. But the dumb thing I did was decide to do another clean of the inside of the fuel tank. What a disaster. Long story weather was hot and the sealer did not flow and seal all. Cleaning out the sealer is extremely difficult. Some of the outside paint was damaged and now I have had to strip the fuel tank back to bare metal on the outside. That was a long and difficult job.

The 1199S is rideable but has no fairings on it. No front fairing. Registered and good to go but looks like a street fighter LOL. The good ol K1300S (beast) is ready to go. Finding the time to ride it is just the problem. Cannot wait to go down to PI one day.

@Andy7
If I can make it I may try to just ride the K1300S (full Akrapovic system on that sounds great) out to SMP next weekend and introduce myself. Good excuse for a ride.

Bloody hell not ideal re tank but satisfying knowing she'll be gleaming and good to go once its all back together - hope you have some success with the cleaning & painting. Love how one simple job on a ducati usually leads to 2 or 12 more things to sort out haha. Concourse is a little way off still isn't it?

Good stuff! It would be great to catch up - there's a few options, either during the day or the racing on friday and saturday night too. I hear there'll be a few big names there from the ASBK + Oli Bayliss, maybe Senna and some others too.

You are right, concourse long way off if ever.
I am thinking of getting the throttle and choke cables re made as well. The new replacements are close but not quite correct length.

I did not know any racing on. I will check out the web page to see the schedule. Are you racing or track day riding ?

@PanigalePilot looking forward to seeing the results. Who’s your source for those parts? There’s gotta be a few gurus around that specialise in the older Ducs, I see more classics than modern ones cruising around just about.

It’s the St George summer series, I’m not racing just doing the track day on Saturday and maybe sunday but will hopefully be there to watch the action on both nights.

I hope to get the cables from Conwire in Milperra. The other stuff came from Holland and England.

Nice trailer setup. 👍

The Husky is a smoker? I’ve considered an fs450 sm or a ktm 450 smr for small tracks.

Cheers Craig, sure is - 300tpi to muck around with some enduro stuff on the farm here. Would love to get into some super moto stuff as well but there’s no real kart tracks close by to make it feasible unfortunately.
Cant go wrong with either of those bikes!
I wonder when Ducati will start making dirt bikes 😂

Missed out on two days at the track last week unfortunately, but this gave me time to give the bike a full service, refresh all the fluids, bleed the brakes again and get into a few tight spots for some cleaning so she's absolutely gleaming again and ready for a run in a months time.
Started ordering a few little things to help sort out the ergonomics for my riding - semi lost the plot when a marketplace ad parting out a very well sorted but wrecked panigale appeared last night. Selected a few choice bits and they'll be on the way this week so pictures and updates will come as parts arrive. Unfortunately I couldn't swing the front brake setup on offer but It was still 1/2 off the new cost of the components.

None of the exciting stuff waiting in the mailbox for me this afternoon, but a couple things still arrived.
AIS block off plates - I am attempting to declutter and simplify things as much as possible over time and these do a good job of deleting some unnecessary hoses. MASSIVE pain in the ass removing the unit so I wouldn’t recommend doing so unless you have at least an hour (took me 2), or the bike is already in pieces.

Sorting out ergonomics has been top of my list for a while since I converted to track riding, especially having trouble with too much weight on the bars since the tank wasn’t offering much to grip onto. Stumbled on Monkeygripp’s product so thought I’d give it a try. Certainly looks like a tumour on the tank but function takes priority over form here. It does appear better in person anyway. Will have a proper review soon. Maybe see some elbow action finally 😆

Tossing up the fan delete as well, pulled the bottom half of the plastic off just to make oil changes easier but would like to get rid of the whole assembly there. It is useful with the heat here so perhaps I’ll order a fan that can mount to the rad directly.

More go fast parts arrived today so this weekends job will be fitting the rear caliper, sicom rotor and bypassing the abs on the rear. Unbelievable how light that disc is, cool bit of engineering there. Might be able to do some sweet skids with a rear brake that actually (hopefully) works 🤔

OZ Cattiva (mag) wheel, will get a rear to match later in the year - just need to sort out some brake discs for this one -undecided on whether I go t-drives or just install a stock pair here, if anyone’s selling either I may be interested. Cheers 😎
