V4R front and rear sprockets size for race use

Hello everyone,

I will be racing my V4R this year, and I can't find any reliable info on which front and rear sprockets I should run.

Someone told me I should run 15 teeth on the front and 44, 45 and 46 on the rear. But I can't find the bigger rear sprockets on the market, they usually end at 43 teeth.
I also heard 14 on the front with 39 to 43 on the rear. But someone told me the bike wouldn't run properly with the 14 teeth sprocket.

What do you guys use on your V4R for competitions ?

I think I have the solutions for you for the the larger rear sprockets that at the same time will make it easy for you to test which combination is the right one for your riding style and for that track.

Sitta sell a Quick Change Racing Kit that come with all the lager rear sprockets you mention above.
They even offer it in the 525 chain and 520 chain:

However, based on the huge horsepower that our Panigale V4 engine produce, I would not recommend you to use the 14 front sprocket because it will put a lot of strain to the chain and sprocket since it have less tooth engaged at any given time.
It's best to have a few teeth larger rear sprocket to get the same effect.

Unfortunately, I am not racing my bike or even riding my bike, but most of the people in this forum or other forum is not really a pro racer anyway, so their advice on the sprocket size will VARY widely depend on their skill and the track they are comfortable with.
However, buying the kit below will allow you to quickly change your rear sprocket and test it to your liking (make sure you cut the chain to the right length which will allow adjustment of the eccentric hub without replacing the chain).
Only you and your own testing can get the right gear setup for you. Having said that, you can start small by increasing the rear sprocket 1 or 2 sizes larger than your current V4R stock sizes (I forgot the stock V4R sprocket stock sized and I really in a hurry now so I don;t have time to check).

Go to gearing commander.com and you can play around with different ratios its a really good starting point for gearing and depending on the track sometimes it's better to only use 5 gears (obviously tighter tracks)

The stock V4R sprockets are 15/42, but I'm currently running 14/42. I think I'll go for 14-41/42/43 as I can't find the 45 and 46 rear sprocket unfortunately.

Also I don't think the V4R is on gearing-commander.com, I can only see the S model which has different gearing and a different rev limiter :/

Internal gear ratios are the same and you can set the max RPM in the parameters.

Sitta also made a regular (NON Quick Change) sprocket for our Panigale V4 (including R), in BOTH 525 chain and 520 chain.
If you go to this WRS webpage: 206D SITTA ERGAL REAR SPROCKET DUCATI PANIGALE V4 / R

You can select on their selection either 525 or 520 and then select the gearing. They offer 44 and 47 for both 520 and 525 chain...
but hmmm you are right, for some reason they don't offer 45 and 46 which is weird but hopefully 44 and 47 is close to what you prefer.
